The Flex

Plan your trip right away

The Flex is a supplement to public transport and not a replacement for existing bus lines. It is a passenger car or (mini)bus with a driver that lets you travel flexibly around Zeeland. The Flex runs 7 days a week, from 06.00 to 23.00. You travel to and from a hub: a pick-up point with a recognizable hub pole. Do you live outside the built-up area? Then the Flex will pick you up at home.

Curious where the hub stops near you are? Take a look here at the map with hub stops.

How does the Flex work?

Booking a ride is easy via the Reizen door Zeeland app, the booking platform, or by phone through the Vervoercentrale. The Flex runs on demand and connects with your journey through Zeeland. Because the Flex operates based on availability, we recommend booking your ride as early as possible. You can reserve rides up to two weeks in advance.

Paying for Flex

You can pay for your Flex ride in advance with iDEAL if you book your ride in the Reizen door Zeeland app. If you pay in the Flex, you can pay the driver with your (digital) debit card or credit card. Paying in cash, Ov-Pay and scanning the OV-chipkaart are not possible. A student travel card, 65+ off-peak and ov-minima card are valid in the Flex. Zeeland Voordeel is not. You can link your travel product to your account via this link. Please note: make sure you already have a Reizen door Zeeland account, otherwise linking will not work.

Children up to and including 12 years old travel for free. Are you 65 years old or older? Then you get a 34% discount. You can apply this/these discount(s) in the payment screen under the heading ‘discounts’.

Veelgestelde vragen

Bagage and mobility aids. What can you bring?

Portable hand luggage and wheeled suitcases can be taken on the Flex. 1 piece per person.

Rollators, walking sticks and walking frames are always allowed.

Foldable buggies can be taken along.

Would you still like that extra bit of reassurance? Then put in the comment what you are bringing. That way the driver knows too.

Can I book multiple days at once?

Yes, that is possible. In the app you can easily select multiple dates. Then enter your desired departure time and you will see which trips are available for each selected day. Choose a time for each day and complete your booking as you are used to.

Handy if you travel to school or work all week!

Can I travel with Flex between Zeeland regions?

Yes, travel between certain regions is possible and this offering is being expanded step by step. Currently, you can travel between:

  • Zuid-Beveland ↔ Noord-Beveland
  • Municipality of Borsele ↔ Walcheren
  • Various hubs in Belgium, including:
    • Zelzate
    • Assenede
    • Maldegem

For other rides between regions, you can use the scheduled bus service or the train.

By regions we mean: the Bevelanden, Schouwen-Duiveland, Tholen, Walcheren and Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

Do I need to reserve the Flex in advance?

Yes, you book a Flex ride in advance via the Reizen door Zeeland app, online or by phone via customer service. At least 30 minutes in advance.

The Flex operates based on available capacity. Whether your ride can be scheduled depends on the availability of vehicles and seats at the desired time. We therefore advise you to book your ride as early as possible; the earlier you book, the greater the chance there is still room.

Hoe can I indicate that I am in a wheelchair?

If you are in a wheelchair, you can indicate this in the app. When you search for a ride, you will see a button next to the date and time labelled ‘Passengers’.

Under ‘Passengers’, go to your own name (or to the name of a fellow passenger) and click on the three dots. Then click on ‘Seat’ and select ‘Wheelchair’. The system will then know that you are in a wheelchair and will always send a minibus.
